Renault Car Warranty Quote

From unexpected repairs to essential parts replacement, a Renault warranty ensures your vehicle stays road-ready without surprise expenses.

In 1899, Louis, Marcel, and Fernand Renault founded a car company that proudly carried their family name. Over a century later, Renault has become the third-largest automobile manufacturer in Europe. From tractors to tanks, buses to coaches, Renault made just about every conceivable land vehicle in its early days, before focusing solely on the cars and vans we all know and love.

Given its prominent standing in the automotive industry, it's no wonder Renault consistently delivers exceptional quality across its wide array of vehicles. That said, even the most reliable vehicles aren't immune to unexpected breakdowns. Unexpected failures can and do happen, which is why we’re here to help - we don’t want you to suddenly find yourself met with repair costs that are through the roof!

Renault reliability: common Renault repairs

The MotorEasy Reliability Index offers a comprehensive measure of a car's dependability by analysing the frequency and cost of repairs across more than 1,200 models. It reveals some of the hidden costs of ownership, as well as the likelihood of something going wrong. Each model is given a reliability score ranging from -100 (red), for a high frequency and/or high cost of repair, through to +100 (green), where there is a low frequency and cost of repair.

The index also includes model-specific data on:

  • The typical repairs needed for each model, including the percentage of claims for engine, gearbox, electrical system, suspension, braking system and fuel system repairs
  • Common repairs you would be covered for with a Renault warranty
  • The average cost for each of the above types of repairs

Renault Warranty FAQs

How long is a Renault warranty?

A Renault extended warranty provides 12 months of coverage and is available for vehicles with fewer than 100,000 miles on the clock. You can choose to pay in a single annual payment or opt for convenient direct debit installments.

For new car warranties, the terms vary depending on the registration date of your vehicle. Please see the Renault warranty length / mileage breakdown below:

  • Registered on or before January 31, 2018: 4 years / 100,000 miles
  • Registered between February 1, 2018, and December 17, 2019: 3 years / 60,000 miles
  • Registered after December 18, 2019: 5 years / 100,000 miles

In all cases, the first 2 years of coverage come with unlimited mileage.

What does a Renault warranty cover?

A Renault extended warranty covers the cost of parts and labour for mechanical or electrical failures of covered components, up to the policy’s claims limit. However, it only applies to cars less than 10 years old and with fewer than 100,000 miles.

A MotorEasy renault warranty offers all the benefits of a Renault extended warranty, plus:

  • Cover for emissions failures
  • Protection against overheating failures
  • Eligibility for vehicles up to 12 years old or with up to 120,000 miles

To arrange a more extensive & less expensive warranty for your car, just fill in our really simple Renault Extended Warranty form

What's not covered in a Renault warranty from MotorEasy?

We’ve got you covered for a lot, but no warranty can handle everything. Here’s a quick look at what falls outside our safety net:

  • Damage from accidents or neglect
  • Regular maintenance and services
  • Modifications or upgrades not approved by Renault
  • Issues caused by skipping scheduled services or ignoring dashboard alerts

For the full details on exclusions, take a look at this page.

When did Renault 4 year warranty start?

Renault first introduced their 4-year standard warranty in 2012. However, this was reduced to a 3-year warranty at the end of January 2018. The policy underwent another change in December 2019, with the introduction of the Renault 5 year warranty for all their new cars.

Does Renault's Warranty include breakdown cover?

An extended warranty from Renault does not include breakdown as standard. However, all new car warranties come with 3 years of breakdown cover as standard.

Can you get a Renault warranty for a used car?

If you bought your used Renault from a Renault main dealer, you’ll have received a minimum 12 month warranty. Please note, if part of the original warranty remains, the 12-month coverage may supplement it rather than being added on top.

For extra peace of mind, MotorEasy offers extended Renault warranty coverage for vehicles with fewer than 120,000 miles. Our comprehensive warranty on Renault cars goes beyond standard coverage, providing added benefits to make car ownership easier, including:

  • A free digital logbook in your MotorEasy account, complete with service and MOT reminders, plus access to exclusive MotorEasy discounts
  • A monitored repair process to ensure all work meets our high standards
  • No upfront payments – we pay network garages directly
  • Access to a nationwide network of 10,000 trusted garages
  • Convenient 24/7 online bookings
